The Treaty of Kalmar was signed in 1397 between the three Nordic kingdoms of Sweden, Denmark and Norway. However, the Kalmar Union

didn't unite the three kingdoms and shortly after Gräfsnäs Castle was built as protection against Norwegians and Danes.
